Don’t worry

Fret not… (Psalm 37: 8)

God knows what He’s doing. During hard seasons, it’s so easy to question God’s sovereignty.  We start to get frustrated because things aren’t going the way we planned. Learn to submit your plans to God then wait for His response, God will not always approve, especially when the plan does not bring glory to His name.

God knows what He is doing, understand this! You cannot compare God’s wisdom to the wisdom of man.

Worrying demotes the power of God. If you are truly aware of the power of God then you’d pray with belief that there is nothing to worry about because God has everything under control. When you’re in good hands, nothing can touch you! Your intimacy with Christ should surpass your feelings/ thoughts.

I love the example God gives of birds!

25“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? (Matthew 6: 25-27 NLT)

The point made is that if a bird can live on without worrying about where their next meal will come from, why can’t we?! We are precious in the Lord’s sight, more than any bird. If God provides for His animals, then surely He’ll provide for me and you. Get your mind right and know that God provides, sustains and delivers.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 6-7 NLT)

I’ll end with this quote:

“The mind is just like a muscle- the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand” //Idowu Koyenikan

Think about what you think about. Pray more. Worry less.

Lord, thank you for your Word, grant me the grace to read your word to feed my mind to remain faithful. I pray I will not groan through trials of life but grow through them by believing in your power.

Amen x

Blast your horn.

Your horn is your intimacy with God, your worship, your prayers. We see in Joshua 6 that God instructed Joshua and the men of valor to blast their horn…

it shall come to pass when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with the a great shout; then the walk of the city will fall down flat’ (Joshua 6:5)

There are some walls in our lives that need to fall! But God requires us to do some things for those walls to fall.

I love Joshua’s response to God telling him how Jericho would be destroyed. Joshua acted immediately. So often, God will show us how to gain our breakthrough but our reaction is lifeless. Joshua demonstrated audacious faith in that moment, he literally got up and followed God’s instruction step by step to lead to the destruction of Jericho.

We often prolong our enemies’ destruction by failing to react to revelations and instructions God has given us.

Joshua 6 is a true example of God’s faithfulness toward us. What God says He will do, He does. We need to believe in the power that God has given us. The end is near and God is urging us to be part of the miracles he wants to perform. Don’t miss out. Just look at the different miracles God performed through those who exercised faith in the Bible.

Don’t allow your situation to affect you relationship with God. Your challenges complement your destiny when you react with faith and hope. Blast your horn when you face challenges and attacks. Satan cannot stand a believer who is aware of their power.

‘Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed. For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them.’ (Psalms 21:11-12)

How are you aiming your arrows? You can’t aim an arrow whilst sleeping ! You need to be up and alert, then the opposition will know you are serious about winning the battle.

Blast your horn through praise, through worship, through prayer, through fasting. All of these, stand as irritants to satanic forces. Satan knows who you are and the power you possess. The question really is, do you know who you are ? Simply knowing who you are is a threat to satan.

Lord, give me the grace and courage to blast my horn in the storm. Help me to understand the power you have given me and to utilise my weapons. give me faith to trust what you say.

Amen x

It seems like you’ve been shaken! What is it that shook you and why did you let it happen? Today, Christians limit the power of God, God has given us authority over satan, yet, we still give satan access into our lives.

Luke 10: 19 – I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Have you forgotten the foundation in which you lay? Jesus Christ!

1 Corinthians 3: 11 – For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have- Jesus Christ.

He took up the cross so we could live. Yet, you let your situations shake you, you waddle in doubt because of how much you’ve been through. But God already delivered you from the heartache. Stop allowing satan to control your life because God has made him your footstool. When you look at your situation through the lens of Christ, you will see that you are standing firm ready to breakthrough.

Don’t forget that satan has come to destroy you, but his plan is nothing compared to the promises of God. God will deal with satan and his schemes as we keep Jesus at the centre. When you focus on the Lord, nothing else matters, nothing can shake you! We serve a God who fights for us as we obey Him.

The more you spend time with Christ, the more like him you become, you will realise that his goodness has made you whole. There is so much we can adopt from Christ, everything we need to overcome is available through Him. Satan has captured many minds today, but God’s power can deliver. When you know who you are, you won’t give the devil a chance. Satan is deaf, you need to remind him of the power you possess because of Jesus.

Jeremiah 51:20 (NLT) “You are my battle-ax and sword,” says the LORD. “With you I will shatter nations and destroy many kingdoms.

Your words carry power, use them as a weapon towards the forces of darkness and they will flee. Satan cannot stand a believer who carries the anointing of prayer.

Psalm 21: 11-12 (NLT) – Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed. For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them.

Stop crying over something you’ve already been delivered from. Lean on God and you will not fall, use His Word to fight back. Ask the Lord to turn your prayers to earthquake prayer to shake the kingdoms of darkness. You cannot be shaken; the King of Kings has laid a firm foundation so that you can live in peace. Glory be to God!

Lord thank you for the solid foundation, thank you because in you I find strength and power. Teach me to be bold when speaking to satan for you have granted me victory. May I walk in victory and choose faith over doubt. Empower me to destroy demonic voices the enemy uses to distract me. May I put you at the centre of everything, in Jesus name.

Bowing down gives sight.

As I listening to William McDowell – Falling on knees, I received a Word from the Lord, I pray that this blesses and ministers to you in Jesus name!

Falling on my knees
I bow
Bow down
Some things I can’t see until
I bow

I can see clearly now
Here on my knees
I understand better
Here on my knees

There are some things we cannot see until we bow. When you lay your life down before Jesus, He begins to open your Spiritual eyes. God awakens our inner man as we open our hearts and surrender. It is so important to understand that we cannot do anything without the power of God interceding for us. God’s power carries our salvation, redemption, freedom, happiness… the list goes on.

The power of God amazes me, God will show up in our situation when we invite Him to! At our lowest, we experience the greatness of God. When we bow down, we provoke the power of God to takeover in that moment. God wants to show up and show off His power in every situation we face. Learn to love the difficult seasons you face because they will strengthen you!

I always say that the trials I go through do not define me or my future, but compliment my destiny. When you truly grasp understanding of this, your first point of call during a difficult season will be Jesus.

I had to realise that God’s power cannot work for me until I understand that I cannot do anything without it. I thank God for His Word that brings understanding and wisdom. 1 Chronicles 29:11 tells of the attributes of God. It is only through Him we can adopt these attributes. How? By seeking His face daily!

1 Chronicles 29:11 (NKJV)

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for that is in Heaven and in earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom O LORD, and you are exalted as head over all.

Lord, teach me to seek you first in every situation, help me to humble myself to acknowledge that I cannot do anything without you. Thank you for your power and the grace available as I seek your throne.

Raise your praise!

Praise is a weapon, literally!

Praise = the expression of approval or admiration for someone or something.

I love the story of Paul and Silas (found in Acts 16), it gives me joy and hope in every situation. The level of your praise determines the affliction your enemies receive. There is power in praise and worship!

Allow God to work through you during the time you spend in praise and worship, because His power will surely move if you allow it to. Again, there is power in praise and worship!

Acts 16: 25 (NLT) – Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself.

Paul and Silas knew who they were, they knew that they had the Spirit of God working within them. Instead of dwelling on the situation, they allowed God to use them as vessels to display His power. In doing so, other prisoners were affected.

God has deposited His Spirit within us, and the anointing that The Holy Spirit carries intercedes as we praise ans worship God!

Note to self:  Don’t be content with your praise and worship because this diminishes opportunity and blessing.

Psalm 9:2 (NLT) – I will be filled with joy because of you.  I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

The condition of your praise and worship toward God can impact lives, people can be saved through the praise and worship you deliver. I had to understand this to be able to lead praise and worship in my church. It is not about you, but all about the LORD Jesus Christ. Until you realise that, you will remain worshipping in the flesh and miss out on what God wants to use you to do.

Praise and worship scatters any demonic scheme commencing in the four corners of the earth, do not underestimate the magnitude of praise and worship, for it reaches mediums we can’t imagine. Praise and worship irritates satan and his demonic camps, it destroys their altar and their powers are rendered useless. Satan is aware of the power in praise and worship, it infuriates him and he will do anything to stop you from engaging in praise and worship.

Exodus 15:2 (NLT) – The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

Praise and worship is not just defined melodiously but as the state of one’s heart!

How do you act when:

  • Things do not go to plan
  • You lose someone close to you
  • You fail an exam
  • You do not get what you have asked God for

Is Jesus your first point of call? Do you praise and worship God? I can reassure that if you choose to praise Him He will work things out for good ~ *cues music* (Travis Greene- Intentional) “all things are working for my good, He’s intentional, never failing” .

Don’t let your circumstances reduce the level of your praise and worship.

Prayer: Lord, I want to be used by you, and I want to worship you wholeheartedly. Thank you for the power of praise and worship. Use my voice to set captives free and interrupt any satanic scheme in the spiritual realm.

Amen x

Have faith that God is working!

When you face hardships in life it is your responsibility to manage your emotions and crucify doubtful thoughts. The enemy will come and discourage you and steer your mind toward thinking of what could not be.

As Christians, we tend to give satan too many chances, instead of firing The Word of God at his evil ways.

I believe that faith is a gift from God that keeps our mind sound and focused on God. Faith is a privilege, yet is often replaced with doubt and fear. Faith is not just a feeling, but actions taken by a bold believer. Are you a bold believer? You are if you laugh at your circumstances, dance past your pain and let your voice disrupt demonic thoughts.

God has given you weapons to survive this journey of life, faith being one of them. A car cannot work without an engine; it will not move. In the same way, you cannot pray with no faith, your prayer is useless if you do not believe God will answer. The answer you receive may not be what you expect, but have faith that it will work out for the good.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)

Faith is a decision to be made today for the trials to come, and faith is knowing that your suffering is a compliment to your destiny.

Lord, thank you for the gift of faith! Help me to walk in faith and give me more understanding of the power of faith.

Amen x

God is ready to use you.

Don’t underestimate the power of God. God will tell you to do some things that you don’t understand. But there’s a reason for everything.

A few weeks ago, God told me to ask a girl on crouches if she needed any help. At first I was reluctant, but I eventually I followed His instruction. I went ahead and asked “are you okay, would you like any help” and she said “no I’m okay, but thank you so much for asking”.

God is ready to use us in any situation to reflect His light and love. No matter what it is He’s telling you to do, do it willingly. You may not know why He’s asking you to but later you will understand..

“Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”  *‭John‬ ‭13:7‬ ‭NIV‬

I found so much joy after asking the girl if she needed any help. Her smile displayed gratitude which made me smile. God uses our acts of kindness to bring goodness into our lives.

I learnt that we must humble ourselves before God when He asks us to do something. We don’t know what the person He asks us to reach out to is going through. I didn’t know the girl, but I believe God used me for a reason.

Not everyone knows that they are loved. It’s our duty as Christ ambassadors to express Gods’ love through our actions and words.

Prayer: “Lord, I want to be used by you, place the garment of obedience and kindness upon me.”
